While other contractors may rely on pre-mixed gas deliveries and transported gas inventories, UCC leverages on-site mobile gas blending and nitrox systems. This equipment allows us to mix breathing gases topside directly at the project site – using nitrogen or helium, and oxygen to create precise dive mixtures as conditions require. This provides greater operational flexibility, improves diver safety, and reduces delays caused by gas supply logistics – helping our customers minimize downtime on critical infrastructure.

While breathing gas supplies are based on specific project conditions, our diving operations often utilize:

The type of commercial diving services required for a project typically depends on the project depth, the diver’s required time at depth, underwater conditions, and the complexity of the work being performed. Standard commercial diving with compressed air is often sufficient for shallow and moderate-depth projects, while deeper or more demanding operations may require deep air or mixed gas diving capabilities to maintain safety, productivity, and compliance. In depths less than 90 feet, nitrox enhances diver safety while increasing the available bottom time.
No two underwater projects are exactly the same, and factors such as depth, diver work tasks, bottom time, environmental conditions, and decompression requirements all influence the type of diving support required. In many cases, inspections and routine underwater work can be completed using standard compressed air systems. However, as depths increase, work durations become longer, or project conditions become more demanding nitrox, deep air or mixed gas diving systems may be recommended to support safe and efficient operations.
